Caramel Apple Dip 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 TB light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup whipping cream
  • 1 TB sour cream
  • 3/4 tsp. coarse sea salt

Directions:

  1. Combine sugar, corn syrup and water over medium-high heat - DO NOT STIR.
  2. Cook for about 10 minutes or until the sugar turns a dark caramel color.
  3. Keep it on the heat and add the remaining ingredients.
  4. Whisk until smooth.
  5. Pour into a heatproof container and serve with sliced apples.

Caramel Sauce 2

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup half-and-half
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • Pinch salt
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. Cook while whisking sugar, half-and-half, butter and salt in a saucepan over medium-low heat 5 to 7 minutes
  2. Add the vanilla and cook another minute.
  3. Cool and refrigerate.
