Caramel Apple Dip 1
Ingredients:
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 TB light corn syrup
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup whipping cream
- 1 TB sour cream
- 3/4 tsp. coarse sea salt
Directions:
- Combine sugar, corn syrup and water over medium-high heat - DO NOT STIR.
- Cook for about 10 minutes or until the sugar turns a dark caramel color.
- Keep it on the heat and add the remaining ingredients.
- Whisk until smooth.
- Pour into a heatproof container and serve with sliced apples.
Caramel Sauce 2
Ingredients:
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup half-and-half
- 4 tablespoons butter
- Pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Directions:
- Cook while whisking sugar, half-and-half, butter and salt in a saucepan over medium-low heat 5 to 7 minutes
- Add the vanilla and cook another minute.
- Cool and refrigerate.
